BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED IT!
Shalom,
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” – Mark 11:24 (NKJV)
Many Sermons often remind us to believe in God’s power but often we forget and just ignore it. Especially when problems and suffering befall us, whether it’s illness, financial crisis and so on, we panic, stress, get disappointed and complain to God.
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” However, have we understood and applied this faith in our real lives? James emphasized that faith without works is essentially dead (Read James 2:17).
Faith needs action that proves that we truly believe in God’s power. James 2:24 says also that “You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.”
When we are in the church environment, at worship meetings or in fellowship with brothers and sisters in faith, our faith is confirmed through prayers, testimonies, praises that we raise to God’s presence; especially when the preaching of God’s Word is delivered, our faith begins to burn.
But when we are faced with successive problems, illnesses that have not yet healed, children who rebel against their parents and various prayers asking for help from God that have not yet received an answer, our faith begins to weaken and doubts dominate our hearts and minds. “Is it possible for my problem to be resolved? The doctor has already ruled that my illness cannot be cured. Can God heal?”
Mark 9: 23 says; Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” The meaning of belief here is total surrender to God. Our part is only to believe, and God’s part is to do what we believe.
God says in Mark 11:23; “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”
Friends, everything that is impossible and unreachable by the human mind, that is what God does for our lives, as long as our faith does not falter and remains firm. But often we are impatient in waiting for God’s help. Truly God’s power is not limited by anything!
Have a great day and God bless!
